Enjoy a panoramic drive along the golden sands of Malvarrosa Beach, where you can breathe in the Mediterranean air and hear a few stories about how this seaside stretch became one of Hemingway’s favorite escapes. From there, we’ll pass by our gleaming City of Arts and Sciences — Valencia’s modern icon — with time to stop for photos and a closer look at its incredible design.
In the historic center, we usually spend anywhere from 2-3 hours, depending on your interests and walking speeds. We wander through the Ciutat Vella, our old town, and point out the many iconic and hidden gems here. Every corner holds a layer of history — from medieval plazas to Roman foundations and Gothic spires. Your tour includes entrance to up to 2 historical sites, depending on your pace and group size. Most visitors choose the UNESCO-listed La Lonja Silk Exchange, once the Wall Street of the 15th century, or the L’Almoina Archaeological Museum where the Romans founded Valentia in 138 BC. However, we may also go into Valencia’s Cathedral, boasting the Holy Grail, go up a Medieval tower, or even into one of our many art museums, or old palaces. If you prefer a lighter pace and perhaps some shopping time, we can simply “peek” into our favorite landmarks together — no rushing, just enjoying.
Around 2 pm, we’ll enjoy a traditional lunch, savoring local flavors and either the famous Paella Valenciana, prepared with chicken or rabbit or another paella of your choice— prepared using the original, authentic recipe. If you prefer a tapas style lunch with just a little paella, we can arrange that too. We can choose a great place in the old town or on the beach, one of the most typical areas to eat paella. It’s a meal that brings the city’s culture to life, so we highly encourage you to eat a light breakfast to save your appetite for Valencia!

- The exact itinerary varies each time, since this is a private tour just for you. It depends on factors such as opening and closing times, tour start and end times, meeting point, walking pace, weather, and most importantly, the preferences of our guests, ensuring you receive the most personalized experience possible.
- The price of lunch is not included in the tour cost (to allow for flexibility) and will need to be paid directly to the restaurant on the day. We would be delighted to help organize lunch for you at a local restaurant within your preferred budget. If you like, your guide can accompany you to assist with translating and ordering, or you can meet your guide after your meal has finished.
- The Central Market is open Monday-Saturday from 7 am-3 pm, so for tours outside of these hours, we can only see the market from the outside.
