Valencia Private Tours

Our Company

Valencia Private Tours, or VPT, was the first private tour website dedicated solely to private tours and private guides in Valencia, started in 2008. Sarah-Kate still does the majority of tours, but has a handful of highly selected guides with the same fervor, love and communication skills, such as her Valencian husband Vicente. VPT also has excellent guides with top ratings in French, Italian, German, Chinese, Portuguese and Russian.

As VPT has grown, so has its repeat clients who have trusted Valencia Private Tours to tour throughout the rest of Spain and southern Europe. Private Spain Tours (www.privatespaintours.com) is used for full service tours around Spain and its neighbors either for private tour guides, private tours and vehicles at every port off a cruise ship or for 1 to 2 week itineraries for everything from gourmet food tours throughout Spain and France to private guides and a full tour set up of the Camino de Santiago. Please check us out for all your southern Europe travel plans!

Sol Events (www.solevents.es) is Valencia Private Tour’s sister company for business events, private event planning such as weddings and all MICE organization in Valencia and throughout Spain with the best English-Spanish bilingual professionals.

Our Founder

Valencia Private Tours is a small family-run business started and owned by Sarah-Kate Redding, an American-born dual national of the US and Spain and a bilingual official Local Guide of Valencia and a certified Spanish and European Union guide. She was born in Maine in the US but spent a lot of time in the Dominican Republic growing up, where she became bilingual in Spanish at a young age.

After programs abroad in a variety of countries and graduating from the ‘Little Ivy’, Bates College, back in New England, Sarah-Kate came to Spain in 1999 to teach English initially. She started as an official guide of Spain in Barcelona, in 2005 and did tours for high-end tour companies all over Spain, France and Portugal and has virtually guided in every city and major town of interest in the country.

Kate, as she is more often called, married a local Valencian and they have 3 trilingual children that occasionally help out in a paella cooking class or on one of our family tours. 2020 was a challenging year for everyone and most business was paused, so Kate pursued her Master’s at the world renown program in Medieval History at the University of Valencia and is currently working on her thesis as she takes in reservations for tours for the Summer of 2021.
