Experience the best of art, nature, and relaxation on this full-day Fanzara and Montanejos tour from Valencia, combining the region’s most surprising open-air street art with the soothing thermal springs of Montanejos.

Tucked into the mountains of Castellón, Fanzara is not your typical village. Instead of statues in plazas or paintings in museums, the whole town is the gallery. More than 150 murals and graffiti artworks fill its walls, created by artists from around the world during the MIAU—our wonderfully named “Unfinished Museum of Urban Art.”  We’ll wander slowly through the little streets, stopping to admire the political, poetic, funny, and sometimes bizarre pieces that appear around every corner. The best part is how it’s all mixed into everyday life; painted next to front doors, above old stone fountains, beside vegetable gardens and cats sleeping in the sun.

After a coffee, continue on to the village of Montanejos, that has drawn visitors since Moorish times, when King Zayd Abu Zayd declared them “the waters of eternal youth.” Today, these crystal-clear thermal springs still flow at a steady 25°C, surrounded by dramatic limestone walls and lush Mediterranean vegetation. Here we’ll have a lunch stop before starting on a mostly flat river-side walk to the most famous bathing spot, the Fuente de los Baños, a natural paradise where warm spring water meets cool mountain air. There’s time to relax or swim here — an unforgettable experience that leaves you refreshed and renewed.

As we return to Valencia in the late afternoon, the changing light over the mountains is the perfect finale to a day filled with nature, relaxation, and the serene beauty of inland Valencia. • The exact itinerary varies each time, since this is a private tour just for you. It depends on factors such as opening and closing times, tour start and end times, meeting point, walking pace, weather, and most importantly, the preferences of our guests, ensuring you receive the most personalized experience possible.
• The price of lunch is not included in the tour cost (to allow for flexibility) and will need to be paid directly to the restaurant on the day. We would be delighted to help organize lunch for you at a local restaurant within your preferred budget. If you like, your guide can accompany you to assist with translating and ordering, or you can meet your guide after your meal has finished.
• You may want to bring bathing suit, towels and river shoes. It is up to you how much time you’d like to spend bathing or not. Please note, we don’t call these “hot” springs, because in the summer, 25ºC feels chilly! In the winter, it feels warm, but they are not hot, per se.
• You can opt for the Cova Negra hike but we don’t need to do it. This route does involve flat river walking however, or we can drive to the bathing area.
