The tour begins with pick up at your hotel or lodging, including  a scenic drive through the city, passing by Malvarrosa Beach before stopping for photos at the spectacular City of Arts and Sciences — Valencia’s iconic modern masterpiece of glass, white curves, and reflective pools. From there, we step into the historic center for a guided walking tour through charming pedestrian streets, elegant squares, and architectural landmarks. You’ll have the chance to enter 1-2 key monuments or museums of your choice — favorites include the UNESCO-listed La Lonja Silk Exchange, the Cathedral and its Holy Chalice Chapel, or the L’Almoina Archaeological Museum. Prefer a lighter pace? We can also arrange shorter “peek stops” to keep things relaxed and enjoyable.

Next, we dive into the flavors of Valencia at the Central Market, one of Europe’s finest food markets. Surrounded by colorful produce, hanging jamón, and the buzz of daily life, we’ll guide you through a curated tasting of local specialties: olives, cheeses, turrones, chocolate, and your choice of regional wine, cava, or freshly squeezed orange juice. You’ll meet local vendors, hear the stories behind the ingredients, and gain a real sense of Valencia’s culinary traditions. To round off the market experience, we’ll enjoy a traditional horchata and fartons — either as we stroll or during a relaxing pause at a nearby café.

In the afternoon, we head south to the Albufera Natural Park, a tranquil freshwater lagoon and the birthplace of Paella Valenciana in the fishing village of El Palmar. We’ll drive through golden rice fields — the very ones that provide the key ingredient for this world-famous dish — while learning about the origins, traditions, and evolution of authentic Paella Valenciana. At a restaurant on the lagoon, we’ll enjoy a leisurely three-course paella lunch with drinks, soaking in the idyllic scenery and flavors of the region. Add on a 45-minute scenic boat ride to explore the lagoon and spot some of the 300+ bird species that call it home.
