Fanzara may be a tiny village tucked into the mountains of Castellón, but it’s bursting with creativity. What was once a quiet rural town has become a living museum of street art—more than 150 murals painted by artists from all over the world during our MIAU (Unfinished Museum of Urban Art) festival. We will wander through its little streets, stopping at the bold, poetic, and sometimes outright cheeky artwork that covers the walls. Some pieces are political, others dreamy or funny, but all of them tell a story about life here—about tradition, rebellion, community, and imagination. And this is not an art gallery behind glass; it’s painted on people’s homes, woven into daily life, next to their front doors, their laundry, their quiet morning routines. We’ll pause for a coffee or snack in the village square, soaking in the contrast between the peaceful countryside and the modern art all around us.
Then, when we’re ready to change the scene, we’ll choose one of the many abandoned castles nearby, for a scenic hike through the countryside. The route will be chosen based on your preferences of length or, if your tour falls during the hot summer months, we can go for a cool water river swim, nearby.

- In the summer, you may want to bring a bathing suit, towels and river shoes.
- The price of lunch is not included in the tour cost (to allow for flexibility) and will need to be paid directly to the restaurant on the day. We would be delighted to help organize lunch for you at a local restaurant within your preferred budget. If you like, your guide can accompany you to assist with translating and ordering, or you can meet your guide after your meal has finished.
