For a unique experience outside the city, join us on a trip through the mountains of the Sierra Espadan in Castellon, just an hour north of Valencia city or 45 west of Castellon, and walk to an abandoned Moorish castle, among other scenic treats.
Leaving the city, we take a pleasant drive north through the Sierra Espadan mountain range, driving by several quaint towns where abandoned castles and other medieval structures are not uncommon. Have a coffee or light lunch upon arrival in Ain, before the relatively easy 45 min hike up to a mountain overlooking the cute town of Ain, where we can have a break from the ruins of a Moorish castle, built over 1000 years ago! This a great hike for families and people of all ages. After the hike, we can either stop in the Caves of Vall d’Uixo, where Europe’s longest subterranean river run through for a relaxing boat ride or check out Roman and Jewish Sagunto, after a nice lunch.
